ELECTIONS

Monday 14-10-2013 - 14:17

You are a Middlesex leader – help your friends to help you!

So fresher’s week was a great time at Middlesex, both new and returning students had a chance to see some of the activities and events that are in store for them this year.

Now you can shape the direction of your degree, your course, your school, your societies, media, and your students’ union.

How do you do it?  By going to 1) http://www.mdxsu.com and clicking the elections tab, 2) finding a role you want and 3) running for election.  It’s as easy as 1-2-3.  To vote in the elections you need to register on the website.

Every student can run for election in one of these roles:
Student Voice Leader (course rep)                                          Society Committee position
Science and Technology School Voice Leader                   Media Committee - Newspaper
Media and Performance School Voice Leader                   Media Committee – Radio
Health and Education School Voice Leader                         Media Committee - TV
Student Trustee

The elections timetable:

·         Nominations are open until midnight Thursday 17th of this week

·         The elections begin online on Monday 21st until midnight Thursday 24th

·         Results will be sent out up to Friday 25th

There really is something for everyone.  After the governance review of 2012-2013, your union is now more than ever framed around actual student interests; the many and not the few.  There are roughly 800 different positions and every single student fits into at least one electoral pool – so make your time at Middlesex count.
