An update from the team working to tranform the forum into MDX House, our new social hub facilities: on Tuesday 22nd July and Wednesday 23rd July, the main entrance to the Forum will be closed so that the floor can be replaced in the lobby as part of the new bar project. Access along the path to the main entrance will be blocked from Tuesday morning and a temporary sign will direct staff and students to the Real Tennis Club entrance.

If you're heading to the gym over the next couple of days, the quickest route into the Forum is via the Real Tennis Club entrance. Temporary internal signage will be put up in the Forum. Security have been advised and will temporarily disable access control on the doors; the SU back door will also be open for SU visitors.

These works will provide a new large concrete deck with canopies and seating area so students can enjoy the space outside of the Forum. There will also be a new entrance to the Forum Bar area, accessible via the new deck. As part of these works, some some temporary classrooms will be installed on one of the old tennis courts to increase the number of classrooms on site and help to alleviate timetable pressures.

The works to MDX House are on track and due to be completed at the end of August, ready to be up and running for when the majority of students are back on campus, ready for MDXSU's Welcome Weeks. Check out some of our MDX House Freshers' events:

MDX House UV party Monday 29th September

Mix n Blend night Wednesday 1st October

MDXSU's Official Circus Freshers' Ball Friday 3rd October

There'll be many more MDX House events running throughout the term 1 period - and if there's a particular event you'd like to organise for the space, get in touch with z.duckers-lyle@mdx.ac.uk to get support and advice on how to make it happen!
