It’s that time of year again, when we say a sad goodbye to your outgoing Elected Student Officers and welcome in their amazing successors. It’s a time to reflect on the year just gone, reminiscing about the moments that made us smile, celebrate and beam with pride, and look to the year ahead.
Leaving us are Sophie McKay and Sarah Bennett, who have been Vice Presidents at MDXSU for two years, and Jean Wong, Vice President Business and Law.
Alongside your returning President Aman, their hard work and successes have resulted in free hot water on campus, free stress packs for students, an amazing new look Pow! Media, a blooming Student Voice Leader programme, and students voting in the General Election who never really engaged in politics previously.
They’ve left lasting legacies for the new Student Officers – Orla Hillary, our new Vice President Health & Education and Science & Technology, André Thompson, your Vice President Art & Design and Media & Performing Arts, and Sayed Alkadiri, the new Vice President Business and Law.
We want to say a huge thank you to our outgoing Student Officers for all they’ve achieved, and wish them the best of luck in all they go on to do. Now, to reflect on the highlights they’ve helped deliver at Middlesex this year!

We were awarded a grant to put towards telling students about the general election, so we organised a politics-themed treasure hunt (with one lucky student winning a Disneyland prize!) and threw a spectacular voter registration party to mark the last day of registering to vote.
