Message from Middlesex University Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Blackman

The UK’s decision to leave the European Union will pose challenges for universities, but the result does not mean any immediate material change to the UK university sector’s participation in EU programmes such as Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+.

There will be no immediate change to the immigration status of current and prospective EU students and staff, who make a valued contribution to our university community at Middlesex and the London economy. We will continue to offer a world-class higher education to students from across Europe and the world who have the ambition to succeed, taught by academics from many different countries who are passionate about their teaching and undertake inspiring research, which are hallmarks of our University.

For EU students with a place to start in academic year 2016/17 and 2017/18, there is currently no reason to assume any change to immigration status or access to student loans. Middlesex University will liaise with Universities UK as they work with the UK Government, the European Commission and other agencies to minimise any disruption caused by this decision.

Throughout this process Middlesex will keep students and staff fully updated on developments.
