Put the Ultra in Ultra-Violet

With our end of term UV Party fast approaching on Thursday 24th March, it's time to start thinking outfits!

To get you started, we've done some comprehensive research into the internet's best ultraviolet-friendly offerings and have found eight must-have accessories that will have you looking like a human beacon of neon.

Extra points if you wear them all...

8. Glow in the Dark Wellington Boots

Think you're all that with your Hunter wellies? Ultraviolet boots are where it's at. Think how much easier stumbling through a muddy field would be with glowing lumps of plastic on your feet? While these are perhaps less appropriate for an indoors UV party, they'll still give any outfit a unique look and win your dancing feet some well-deserved attention (please note: dancing ability may be hindered).

7. Neon Leggings

A classic staple of the UV lover’s outfit, a pair of brightly coloured lycra leggings will have you feeling like you strutted straight out of the 80s - and they're totally unisex friendly too. Combine with some leg warmers for an especially strong look.

6. The Tutu

Whether you're a ballerina or not, the tutu is another staple of any committed UV-raver's wardrobe. If this doesn’t help showcase your moves on the dance floor then frankly you're past hope. We've even witnessed people stitching fairy lights into their tutu netting... Some may call this an unnecessary addition to an already excessive garment; we call it genius.

5. Morphsuits

Morphsuits have been a reliable guest at every costume party and festival since they were unleashed upon the unsuspecting public five years ago. Despite all the practical problems posed by this peculiar piece of clothing, it’s still a great look. Good luck going to the toilet and trying to find your wallet though…

4. UV facepaint

How to make your skin glow: eat loads of green, leafy vegetables and drink plenty of water. OR coat yourself in luminous paint. Option two noticeably quicker though potentially less subtle, though luckily subtlety is not what we're going for here...

3. Neon Moustache

If you don't feel at home without a bit of facial fuzz, why not up your game and make it neon for the night? Official party tash.

2. UV Reactive Wig

Why make do with your own boring hair when you can don a glow-in-the-dark lilac bob for the night? It's what Nicki would do. Alternatively, invest in some semi-permanent, UV hair rinse - yes, it's a thing - and give your locks a flourescent twist for the night... and for the next few nights too... Commitment to the cause.

1. The Glow Stick

The number one must-have UV Party accessory: the glow stick. Whether you turn them into glasses, fashion yourself a necklace, stack them around your wrists or just wave them about a bit, it isn’t a UV party unless you have an excessive number of these hanging off your bod. It’s also the only way to really know you’ve had the full UV experience: waking up the morning after with forty of these in your bed and neon on your t-shirt (and maybe a kebab stain too...)
