Students from Middlesex University have won a national award for their hard work at Muswell Hill Soup Kitchen.

The charitable group have won the Impact Award at this years National Student Fundraising Awards after their involvement transformed the Muswell Hill Baptist Church.

More than 60 volunteers from RAG have been helping out at the kitchen at the start of the year by preparing and serving food, as well as giving general support to the over stretched staff.

Later this academic year, we are aiming for the produce from the allotment to be extra supplies for the soup kitchen.

Sophie McKay, VP Health & Education, Science & Technology said “We’re particularly proud because the soup kitchen project is all about getting involved directly with the local community – not just setting a fundraising target and achieving it. We’re looking forward to staying involved in the coming year.”

The first meeting to visit the soup kitchen will be on Sunday 7th December. To get involved with the project, contact Sophie on s.mckay@mdx.ac.uk
