Summer Fest TONIGHT!
Our largest event of the year is tonight!
MDXSU Summer Fest will be kicking off on the Middlesex University campus from 5pm.
We might not have the tropical temperatures we'd hoped, but we have it on good authority that the rain will have stopped by the time the party starts - not that it would have dampened our spirits anyway...
Everyone who has bought tickets in advance should have been emailed with further information, but in case your message has been lost in cyberspace (or you need to check your junk...), here's a rundown of what you need to know...
Tickets
Early bird tickets have sold out, but advance £18 tickets, group discount tickets and Summer Fest x Grad Ball joint tickets will be on sale online here until the event begins (or until they sell out!). A limited number of £20 tickets will be available to purchase on the door.
Event Entry
The Summer Fest site comprises several indoor and outdoor areas across the MDX campus. The entrance will be beside Grove Park between the Portakabins and the Real Tennis Building, and will be clearly signposted.
To enter the Summer Fest grounds you will need your official Summer Fest wristband and a valid form of photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence.
You can exchange your Summer Fest ticket for the wristband at the MDXSU Welcome Desk (downstairs in MDX House) until this afternoon - just bring your ticket. If you haven't had chance to collect your wristband in advance, don't worry! Though you may have to queue a little longer on the door, just present us with your ticket when you arrive and we'll sort you out with your wristband then.
The doors will open at 5pm and close at 3am. Please note: last entry is at 1am, and you will have missed half of the fun!
Campus disruptions
There will be minor disruptions to campus due to Summer Fest, with the fenced-off event area being accessible to ticket holders only from 5pm. Students will not be able to exit from the College or Williams Building onto Scholars Courtyard throughout the day. The library will remain open, but once the event begins there will be some noise disturbance.
The lineup
We have now announced the full Summer Fest lineup, featuring WSTRN, Yasser, NORTY, Vas Leon and a variety of talented student artists and DJs. Click here to view the lineup online.
Food and drink
There will be several bars onsite (closing at 2am), from the MDX House bar to a beer tent and pop-up cocktail bar. There will also be food stands selling churros and fast food. There will be one cashpoint in MDX House, though we'd highly recommend bringing cash!
