What's it like to work for MDXSU?

Wednesday 13-08-2014 - 11:43

We have so many jobs going at MDXSU right now. Seriously - over SEVENTY jobs! Seven-zero. But that won't be the case once term begins...

All of these jobs are about working with fellow students, making sure they have a good time, and helping them access the Union services that matter to them. Once term begins, our student staff are right at the centre of campus life - and getting paid for it! So if you're looking to supplement your income this year, this is your moment.

Find out what working at MDXSU is like by checking out what some of the Welcome Desk staff, Welcome Week staff, and paid interns have to say. If it all sounds good to you, make sure to apply for a role before August 20th...

So, what’s it like to be part of Team MDXSU?

“Working as a Team MDXSU Member has been one of the most beneficial experiences of my University life. We are given the opportunity to engage with a whole array of students first hand, being the initial point of contact for the Students’ Union leaving a lasting impression on students for the rest of their University lives so they have the information to learn more about their Union during their journey at Middlesex.

With the introduction of the new sabbatical team, we’re gearing up for an exciting year ahead for the Union that I can’t wait to be a part of.” Wayne

“Welcome Weeks last year were fantastic! Working gave me the chance to see how important it is to make new students feel at ease when starting University plus I got to meet some amazing people who turned into great friends.

The Students’ Union team are fantastic; they understand us as students and provide us with full support and flexibility. The environment is honestly the friendliest I've ever seen. It's the best place to work!” Heba

“Working within the centre of student activity places you within an atmosphere that is constantly growing and developing and lets you work within a team that that is dedicated and creative, providing huge possibilities for students and also being a major support system for them as well.

Working at Welcome Weeks gets you in the heart of the action, you are there to help keep the momentum of the events and activities going but you also get to be a part of this amazing buzz and interaction with thousands of new faces and new things.” Joel

“I worked at last year’s Welcome Weeks and had some of my best days participating in the Freshers’ Fair and Welcome events! Meeting new students and contributing my ideas to various projects definitely made my university experience better.

I have very much enjoyed my time working at the SU and feel it has greatly benefited me in terms of learning new skills, managing and organising my time and also finding out more about what happens on campus and at MDXSU.” Kim
