We’re excited to announce that funding has been secured for a large number of Middlesex University students to either study in one of our partner universities not only across Europe but all over the world or take a two month placement in Europe in 2017! The placements are open to undergrads and postgrads from all schools and courses, and the ability to speak a foreign language is not compulsory.

Working or studying abroad is a great way to improve your employability while enjoying a different culture and even picking up a new language - make sure you stay posted to know when to apply and find the Erasmus & Exchange team at the Welcome fair in September to discuss the opportunities available to you!

The Middlesex Employability Support team will be on hand to help you find, apply for and secure your work placement, and you'll receive funding of between 450 and 500 Euros monthly, depending on where you're based and what you're doing! On top of these funded work placements, you can also study abroad in one of our partner universities thanks to a generous monthly grant; for example, for countries outside the European Union you will receive €650/month plus a generous travel grant of up to €1,100.

What our students say:

Here in Belgrade I have the incredible opportunity to look at minutia: subtle differences, aesthetics, spaces and choices. I am discovering more about how the politics and economics of cultural production is both similar and different to other sites of fieldwork across the continent of Europe, so this time is crucial for comparative depth and understanding.”

-Alexandra Baybutt, PhD School of Media and Performing Arts, University of Belgrade, Serbia

“The natural, cultural, and historical heritage of this tiny nation located in the middle of the Mediterranean, whose language represents the missing link between my own Sicilian linguistic heritage and Arabic, definitely exceeded my expectations. I finalised my MA Translation dissertation, enjoying the rich collection of linguistic textbooks the library at the University of Malta has to offer, and the glorious weather too!  An experience I would suggest to anyone.”

- Andrea Musumeci, MA Translation, University of Malta
