Meet your Student Officer team 2022-2023

The new Student Officer team was elected during the MDXSU Elections in February 2022, and now, they’ve officially started their term - read on to learn more about each of them. Your President and Vice Presidents represent all Middlesex University London students who are paid to work full-time for an academic year until July 2023. 
 
This year, the Vice President Health, Social Care and Education will be replaced with a faculty coordinator who will oversee the student experience for the faculty of Health, Social Care and Education.  
 

Sagar Joshi

MDXSU President 

Sagar’s top priorities are:
  • Improving your academic experience via employability opportunities 
  • Equitable wellbeing opportunities for home and international students 
  • Improving access to your studies via recorded lectures, better connections, and more 
 
 
The President is the figurehead of the Students' Union, leading the officer team and acting as the first point of contact for campus-wide issues. The President also chairs MDXSU’s Trustee Board and Union Council and represents students on the University’s Board of Governors (the highest decision-making body in the university). 
 

Nathaneal Hawthorne

Vice President Arts and Creative Industries 

Nathaneal’s top priorities are:
  • Improved access to resources and facilities for creative studies
  • More employment opportunities for all MDX students  
  • Additional financial support for home and international students  
 
 
The Vice President of Arts and Creative Industries represents all students studying art and creative courses at Middlesex and works closely with the Student Voice Leaders for Art, Design, Media and Performing Arts courses. 
 

Abhishek Arora

Vice President Business & Law 

Abhishek has been re-elected and his top priorities this year are:
  • More inclusive and accessible food options on campus 
  • Increased support for international students  
  • More employability opportunities for all students 
 
 
The Vice President of Business & Law represents all students studying business and law courses at Middlesex and works closely with the Student Voice Leaders for Business and Law courses. 
 
 

Najiha Malik

Vice President Science and Technology 

Najiha’s top priorities are:  
  • Making your academic experience more inclusive and accessible 
  • To empower and introduce more diverse networks on campus 
  • Carving out inclusive and safe spaces for all students on campus 
 
 
The Vice President of Science and Technology represents all students within this faculty and works closely with Student Voice Leaders for these courses. 
 
 
Huge thanks go to our four outgoing officers Twinkle Gupta, Anastasia Calin, Nishtha Relan and Jaudat Alogba who have been outstanding representatives for Middlesex students, and incredible leaders of the Students’ Union, and have delivered real change which will benefit many students at Middlesex.
