MDXSU are proud to announce the winners of our first ever Hoody Design Competition! Over 50 students submitted entries and, after a rigorous judging process, we can now announce our finalists.

Entries to this year’s competition were reviewed by a panel of judges, including Nishtha Relan, Vice President Arts & Creative Industries, Cerys Owen, MDXSU’s Graphic Designer, Jo Williamson, MDX Contracts Officer, and Iman Espeut-Mills, Graduate Academic Assistant in the MDX Fashion Department. The panel were really impressed with all the entries and would like to thank everyone who participated in our competition and helped to make it a success!

The Winners...

First Place: Cathy Liu

Congratulations Cathy! As the winner of the MDXSU Hoody Design Competition, Cathy will receive a cash prize, and will work with our Graphic Designer to finalise the design before it is printed onto a limited-edition hoody which will be added to our range of official MDX merchandise. Our panel of judges chose Cathy’s design based on its interesting concept, wearability, and how well it exemplified the entry requirements.

Second Place: Nikolai Stremmer

The judging panel were so impressed with Nickolai’s vibrant design that this will also be added to our range of official MDX merchandise, and will be made available as a special-edition tote-bag. Nikolai will also receive a cash prize, and a free piece of merchandise!

Third Place: Janie Dang

Janie’s design was simple but bold, and the judging panel enjoyed how the design was relatable to students and their experiences.
Janie will also receive a cash prize, and a free piece of merchandise!

Congratulations to all our winners! Cathy and Nikolai’s designs will be available to purchase via our online shop soon.
