As Black History Month celebrates its 36th Anniversary, MDXSU recognises that being forward-thinking on liberation, equality, diversity, and inclusion on campus & online is vital.

Our students come from different backgrounds, bringing unique knowledge, skills, and experience to the #TeamMDX community. At MDXSU we celebrate diversity all year round - so make sure to check our EVENTS page to see what's on, and our LIBERATIONS pages on how we're combating social change.

BLACK STUDENTS' EXPERIENCE

On Monday 1st June 2020, we made pledges to ensure that we continue to support our Black communities at Middlesex University and wider society (read the full article here or scroll to the bottom). Since then, we have conducted research into the Black Students’ Experience (BSE) at Middlesex. After seven months of engaging with the Black community through surveys and focus groups, this resulted in a report with findings on the existing BSE and recommendations to improve the BSE at MDX and MDXSU. Click here to read the full report.

We are committed to continually educating ourselves and others on the oppression & discrimination and also the success & contributions of Black people & culture.
