Keep Wednesday Afternoons Free

For many students, taking part in sports, societies and volunteering opportunities are a crucial part of the university experience, and having free time in student timetables can provide life-changing opportunities.

By keeping Wednesday afternoons free from timetabled lessons, the University will help enable students access the huge variety of activities on offer at MDX: taking part in sports and BUCS matches; being a society leader or attending student groups events; attending an internship or placements; or simply setting aside time for some self-care or to study.

How can you get involved?

Alongside working with the university to get a greater understanding of how many courses have Wednesday afternoons free at present, we are also currently looking for stories from students to identify how having classes on Wednesday afternoon is affecting your university experience.

If you have a story to share, or a activity you would love to pursue if you had this scheduled time off every week, please get in touch!

You can email MDXSU at, or contact your Student Voice Leader or Vice President - find their contact details online here.
