The Natural Sciences Academic Society aims to Increase awareness, meaning and importance of science and its application in jobs, research and innovation here at Middlesex University. As well as supporting and encouraging science academia, we also feel compelled to try and prove that science offers much more than just a glorified profession enslaved to a laboratory. We endeavor to shape students at Middlesex as the next leading generation of Scientists, by offering a broad spectrum of opportunities which ensue to bring out personal qualities and passion much needed in science.
The Natural Sciences Society was only founded in October, 2013. Considering the short period of time, much has been acheived since with room for further acheivements of greater heights. This year we are looking to increase our activities; one of our main goals is to hold lectures/journal clubs on trending topics in science, inviting guest speakers from various areas of expertise. Ultimately, the intention of the society is to create "open two-way" discussions within the science community and bridge the knowledge gap between students and those well advanced in the field, and we would love to have you on board!
Advantages to you ...
The Natural Sciences Academic Society has contacts with a number of life science organisations, and is formally affiliated with the Society of Biology and the Institute of Biomedical Scientists (IBMS). Through our partnership we can offer special advantages to our members, such as reduced membership rates for the Society of Biology and a 10% discount on the IBMS eStudent membership.
If you have any comments or suggestions and would like to get involved in the society, we are always looking for fresh talent so feel free to get in touch below!
