The Vice President Art & Design and Media & Performing Arts represents all students within these schools at Middlesex, and works closely with the School Voice Leaders on the MDXSU Exec. Each Student Officer also has particular interests in and responsibilities for other areas of student life.
I studied Popular Music at Middlesex, which means like many of you I was based in the Grove building, and I understand the various struggles that all of us in the Art & Design and Media & Performing Arts schools face - as well as all of the things that make us great!

Work with Citizens UK to expand our reach on influencing policy & strenthen relationships with the local community.
Met with the local Councillor to learn how to influence local authority.
Met with the Shadow Leader of Barnet Council to discuss Housing, student safety and Stop & Search policy.
GET 1,000 MDX student registered to vote in the Barnet Local Authority Elections.
Increase students political awareness and encourage students to attend local Hustings.
To encourage students to vote on May 3rd 2018 and introduce automated voter registry.
Meet with Barnet Council to learn best practises for voting.
Look into getting a ballot box on MDX campus and run a phone bank & social media campaign on polling day.
Continue to lobby University.
Have atleast 1 student issue on each major party manifesto.
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR REFUGEES
Secure a seat on the Barnet Refugees Welcome Board.
Free English tests for local resettled refugees wanting to study at MDX.
Fee waivers for refugees who are offered a place to study at MDX - securing 3 Fee Waivers this year.
The unveiling of 'Children of the Mediterranean' sculpture on-campus by student refugees, dedicated to child refugees.
Work with CUK to help prepare refugees for Higher Education enrolment, through pre-sessional English classes.
Lobby University to introduce annual Refugee Fee Waiver fund.
Produce a video with students pledging 50p of their own tuition fees to support a refugee to study at MDX.
Introduce more Vegan & Vegetarian options in MDX House.
To ensure the catering contract on-campus is student-led, student focused and well-prices.
Refurbished POW! Media studios in MDX House with new and updated equipment.
100+ active members of POW! Media within the first 2 months of the academic year.
20+ scheduled radio shows per week.
A TV segment every 3 weeks.
POW! Magazine first publication to launch on 29th Jan.
Appoint a leader for each POW! Media platform, as well as positions for Finance, Secretary & Marketing.
