Make Change

Students and student views are at the centre of everything we do, so we want to make sure every student has the opportunity to make change within their Students' Union and their university experience.

Read on to find out how you can effect change through your Students' Union, whether that's submitting an idea, taking part in a campaign, or working with your elected representatives.

Ideas for Change

Got an idea to improve your time at uni? Submit your idea online, and if it receives 10 or more votes, it will be discussed at Union Council. If it is passed by 80% of council members, or passes as part of a referendum (an all-student vote), your idea will become MDXSU policy for us to work on implementing.

Union Council

Union Council is an elected committee of student representatives who to decide and deliver MDXSU policies, and review the work of Student Officers. As well as making decisions on your ideas for change, Union Council can call a referendum - a yes or no vote which all students can vote in.

Your Representatives

Student representatives are there to make sure your voice and your views are heard - from Student Voice Leaders to leaders of your Liberation groups. Visit the Your Representatives page to find out who they are and how to get in touch, or head to our elections page if you're interested in standing for a role yourself!

Campaigns

As your Students' Union, we lead on a range of campaigns, each with the aim of making positive change for students both on and off campus. Our campaigns are driven by Student Officers, Liberation group leaders, society committees and other passionate student volunteers - we'd love for you to get involved!
