Sexual Health Awareness & Guidance (SHAG)

Led by our Vice President Businss & Law, Erica Ramos, MDXSU is passionate about increasing awareness of sexual health in all its forms. Sex education is leaving people short, meaning that we don't know the basics of the birds and the bees! We are working to improve this on campus and in the local community in Barnet.

We want to increase understanding of:

  • Sexual health, STIs, screenings and contraception
  • Consent
  • LGBT+ sex
  • Healthy relationships and friendship

So far we have...

  • Organised Night of Controversy events - with performance from drag queens, Burlesque & Pole Society and quizzes from your LGBT+ students' group - raising money for Terrence Higgins Trust
  • Organised activities in collaboration with LGBT+ History Month including a Bi Umbrellas Art Installation and 4 Queer Women Panel
  • Provided consent and contraception workshops and info on sex clinics
  • Given out free condoms and information about sexual health!
