Hello Movemberers!

You might have recently seen a video on MDXSU’s social media and no, your eyes are not deceiving you. That is in fact a moustache tree! But why do we have one?

As it's November, the focus of the We Need To Talk campaign this month will be on Movember, men's mental health and reducing the rate of male suicide. And why have we decided to grow our very own moustache tree? It’s for everyone who can’t grow their own 'tache but who wants to take part in the cause, and I'll be giving them out at events throughout the month too!

I have lots of exciting Movember activities planned so keep an eye out for the monthly Chill Out Hub, the Moustache Variety Show and I’m even working on getting a theatre company in who get people rethinking about what masculinity means and to reduce that stigma - more at www.mdxsu.com/events

Thursday 22nd November, 10am-4pm: Chill Out Hub in The Quad

Thursday 22nd November, 8pm- 12pm: Moustache Variety Show

End of November: Theatre Company Workshop

You can book tickets for our Moustache Variety Show here, and if you would like to perform on the night email Sarah at s.hazlehurst@mdx.ac.uk with your name, contact details and some information about your act. We welcome all acts and talents to come together to raise money for a great cause!

Any money raised or donations received this month will be donated to the Movember Foundation, so grow a moustache or stick one on this Movember, and let’s get people talking about men’s mental health.

If you are interested in the We Need to Talk campaign you can sign up to updates of what's going on and how to be involved here. Otherwise, feel free to email me any of your questions or suggestions at L.Holland@mdx.ac.uk.
