We are calling for additional fridge space and 24-hour access to common rooms at Usher Hall to improve residents’ living conditions. The current fridge capacity is insufficient, forcing residents to move other people’s belongings around and limiting how much food they can store. Furthermore, common rooms shared by approximately 12 residents are subject to time restrictions, preventing residents from accessing these spaces when they need them most, particularly during weekends, evenings, and nights.
We urge accommodation management to act by providing sufficient fridge space and allowing residents to use common rooms 24 hours a day. Students deserve a comfortable living environment where they can store their food properly and have a shared space to relax, socialize and take a break from their bedrooms. Accessible common spaces can help combat loneliness, encourage friendships, and strengthen the sense of community among residents. By signing this petition, we can make our collective concerns heard and push for meaningful changes that improve the residential experience for everyone at Usher Hall.

Hi i don't want to go into too much detail, but in addition to this, there's the lack of laundry machines and hygienic cleanliness. usher hall needs to take action on this very quickly. for everyone…
A smaller fridge means all my money goes towards grocery shopping. I am forced to settle for less and not make the food portions I intended. Common rooms should not be restricted. It's depressing in our small matchbox rooms that we are paying for and by restricting the common room we suffocate. I dont survive on takeaways, I cook all my food. I need a bigger fridge AND freezer.

Even though we are paying more than Platt Hall, our living conditions are definitely not better—in fact, they are even worse. We have smaller kitchens, smaller bedrooms, and communal spaces that have to be shared with more people. When we are paying significantly higher rent, we deserve much better than this.
