Understanding Liberation and Being an Ally

Launch yourself into opportunities for growth with Student Leaders Development Week! MDXSU invites you to take part whether you're already a leader who wants to develop your knowledge or if you're taking your first steps in improving your professional skills. The week's schedule includes interactive campaign sessions, workshops to improve your wellbeing and sessions on building up your business, relationships or community. Make the most of this online training to gain extra insight into what is happening in the wider community and how you can have an impact on those around you as part of #TeamMDX.
In the current circumstances, it’s more important than ever to connect and support one another. Recent events this year have inspired a whole wave of virtual activism among students to raise awareness and continue conversation on topics such as the Black Lives Matter movement, the implications of the pandemic, and the status of different gender identities and bodies. But what does it take to be a good ‘ally to the cause’? This session will help you to find the tools necessary to create space, visibly support and, provide useful allyship to those around you both at Middlesex and beyond.
Book your free ticket for this session before the end of sales at 1pm on the date of the session, when the joining details will be emailed to you. We will provide a link to a Zoom meeting, which you can either use your Middlesex ID to access or simply click on the link provided to take you to the meeting. If you have any specific access requirements for the session, please email s.bernard@mdx.ac.uk in advance.
