We are excited to announce the MDXSU Student Leaders Residential for the 6th consecutive year!
What is the Student Leaders Residential?
Student Leaders Residential (SLR) is a free, annual trip organised by Middlesex Students’ Union. The three-day residential gives students the chance to find out more about their Students' Union, develop their leadership skills, get involved in campaigns, meet new people and try new things.
What happens at the Student Leader Residential?
Across the three days we will cover a variety of sessions, full of empowering workshops, teambuilding activities, outdoor challenges, campfires and with plenty of time for socialising in the evenings too. We will be bringing out your inner Bear Grylls! This is also a great opportunity to get to know your MDXSU Full-Time Officer team and how you can be the catalyst for the activist work they plan to do next academic year.
When and where is it happening?
This year, we will host at Gilwell Park Scouts Activity Centre on Wednesday 11th September.
You will have an option to stay overnight on location for both nights, which we encourage. However, if you are unable to, you may attend for just one day but you will need to make your own travel arrangements on your return. (NOTE: You will have to leave early to Chingford Station on the Thursday)
How much does it cost?
The trip is completely FREE, and we will take care of catering, accommodation and travel.
You're guaranteed to leave newly inspired, with new friends, and new skills to help you make the most of your time at university and in the world beyond. So what are you waiting for?! Come develop your leadership skills while having a whole lot of fun - on us!
How can I attend?
We encourage students with leadership positions on campus - whether you’re on a Society committee, a Liberation Leader, planning to stand to be a Student Voice Leader for your course, part of POW! Media , or involved in our Community Placement scheme – to attend the residential.
If you want to attend MDXSU’s Student Leaders Residential, you MUST book your space online. Click above to secure your spot! For more information please email Rachael Wall (r.wall@mdx.ac.uk)
