We have had an amazing year – where’s the time gone?!

We wanted to share a few of our favourite moments you’ve helped us achieve this year.

It’s only going to get better and we hope you get even more involved in the next academic year.

Supporting Victims & Survivors of Sexual Harassment & Violence

Erica’s ‘We Believe You’ campaign pledged to support victims and survivors and to increase awareness for zero tolerance culture to sexual harassment & violence.

This included raising money for sexual health charity Terrance Higgins Trust by inviting Drag Queen on campus for a Night of Controversy and conducting focus groups for students who wanted to help shape the sexual harassment reporting system on campus.

Hundreds of you downloaded our well-being guide, grabbed freebies and took part in a range of free activities to help you be the best version of you – including, study support, henna tattooing, massages, boxing and tons more! – we're already planning on helping you chill-out more next year!

Getting To Know You Better

We’ve set-up our first ever HealthCare Students Community for nursing and midwifery students AND our first ever Erasmus/Exchange Community! – both of which are student-led and supported by MDXSU.

To make sure we’re properly representing all our communities, we hired student interns who fall into these groups to support and lead on activities to help us better understand your needs.

Saving the planet, one garmet at a time

We teamed up with Love Not Landfill to acquire a clothes bank on campus so you can donate your unwanted clothes and avoid letting them rot in landfills or burned in incinerators releasing harmful toxins into our atmosphere. Find it outside MDX House all-year-round and help make our planet a more cleaner pleace.

Erica Ramos continues to support you on a national level

Your current VP of Business & Law was elected NUS Vice President of Union Development, meaning Erica will carry on making sure your student experience is a priority on a national level!

We’re proud of Erica feat for the full-time position at NUS, winning everyone over with her fierce ‘Roar for Erica’ campaign and inspiring speech. Watch them below.

Welcoming More Refugees

Your Student Officers convinced Barnet Council and local MPs to resettle 30 refugee children over the next decade - to safety in the UK through safe, legal routes funded by the central government. This is part of a national campaign by Citizen UK and the refugee charity, Safe Passage, who together are calling for government to resettle 10,000 refugee children over 10 years.
