All Societies Meeting Election Results

On Monday 12th September MDXSU held the first All Societies Meeting of the year!

 

Over 75 society leaders attended, sharing ideas, learning more about policies, and voting for a Societies Convenor and Funding Committee.

 

Funding Committee

MDXSU has a budget available each year to support societies financially. The Funding Committee are responsible for considering and approving funding applications from societies, and ensuring that the societies grant money is fairly awarded throughout the year. There were 10 places available on the Funding Committee, with each general society category - Academic, Cultural/International, Religious, General Interest and Campaigning - contributing two members.

 

And the winners are...

Jack Tolley - Business, Economics and Finance Society (Academic)
Sulaiman Lkaderi - Design, Art and Technology Society (Academic)
Harry Phinda - African-Caribbean Society, or ACS (Cultural/International)
Diogo Costa - Portuguese Speaking Society (Cultural/International)
Vanessa Kobi - First Love Church MDX (Religious)
Charmaine - Salem MDX  (Religious)
Alex Holovin - Film Club (General Interest)
Jack Allan - Tea and Coffee Society (General Interest)

 

The Societies Convenor

The Societies Convenor chairs the Funding Committee and is responsible for ensuring that any new ideas and policy developed in the societies community is taken forward by Middlesex Students' Union. They also work alongside MDXSU Vice President André Thompson, helping support and promote society event and activities throughout the year.
