Sagar Joshi's Priorities: 

  • Financial Support - Implement financial assistance programs to address the cost-of-living crisis faced by students, including increasing the availability of bursaries, scholarships, and emergency funds specifically designed to support students in need.
  • Employability Support - Advocate at a national level for policies to increase working hours for international students, that recognise their valuable contributions and desire to gain practical experience alongside their studies
  • Mental Health - Enhance the support system that addresses the wellbeing of all students, providing easy access to counselling services, support groups, and workshops on stress management, self-care, and resilience

 


 
The President is the figurehead of the Students' Union and oversees communication between MDXSU and Middlesex students, and is the first point of contact for campus-wide issues. They also chair MDXSU's Trustee Board and represent students on the University's Board of Governors, the highest decision-making body in the university

Accountability refers to the responsibilities and commitment to fulfil specific tasks and objectives during Sagar's term as the Sabbatical Officer. Sagar worked on four main points this year.

Financial Support

Sagar presented suggestions to the university to improve fee instalment plans for students.

Mental Health

Alongside other officers, Sagar worked on raising awareness of mental health with wellbeing events during Movember, a month focused on men's mental health.

International Student Experience

He also delved into researching and presenting recommendations to enhance the international student experience, showcasing a dedication to inclusivity.

Scholarships and bursaries Awareness

And lastly, Sagar took proactive steps to raise awareness about available scholarships and bursaries, exemplifying a tireless commitment to promoting equitable access to education.
