Sahil Patel's Priorities:

  • Mental Health - Enhancing resources and support systems for students, specifically focusing on mental health services and facilitating clear communication channels between the university and students regarding financial aid
  • Inclusive Representation - Improving the representation and empowerment of underrepresented groups, including Black liberation groups, LGBTQ+ students, and disabled students, through inclusive policies, programs, and initiatives
  • Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion - Regularly assessing and evaluating the university's progress in achieving diversity, equity, and inclusion goals, and utilizing feedback from students and stakeholders to continually improve and adapt initiatives

The Social Justice Officer represents Student Members to the University and external audiences. They lead in policy-making, campaigning and lobbying work in conjunction with other Officers, on student social justice issues at Middlesex University. They will work with key external stakeholders (e.g. Barnet Citizens) to drive action on social injustices that effect Middlesex students. They are Sabbatical Trustees and play a key role in the relationship between students and the Trustee Board.
